First and foremost, I am a Relationship Therapist. Our relationships are the critical component for a healthy life mentally, spiritually and physically. When our relationships nurture and support us, we create a catalyst for vitality and happiness.
When our relationships do not nourish our longing to be known by another, we lose hope, our hearts can harden and we retreat in protective and unattractive ways.
Think for a moment about how this principle lives in you. What is your pattern when you are feeling disconnected from your partner, a loved one, your family, even yourself? Do you retreat, fight back or shut down completely? All of these responses arise when we experience the real or imagined loss of love or security.
Therapy allows us to slow down and pause, to make sense of our responses to the challenges in life. In that pause you or you and a partner can discover, explore, reflect, learn and eventually take restorative action. We are not stuck with the hand we got dealt but we do have choices about how we take the next step.
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In that response lies our growth and freedom.” Victor Frankel, Man’s Search for Meaning
I am interested in supporting all of your important relationships: the ones you have with your family, your children, your lovers, your coworkers and most importantly, the one you have with yourself.
